Aims and Donations
:: The primary aim is to help the disabled and those needing assistance to return to fishing. Nationally we will collect and collate names and contact numbers of people needing our help and assistance, and people willing to give that assistance. These will be cross referenced and introduced through the "Buddy" system register.

:: The secondary aim is to offer advice and guidance in general to fisheries and venues in regards to access and suitability for the disabled angler. Where appropriate we will refer them to an appropriate advisory agency in their area.

:: The third aim is to (where ever possible) promote angling as a healthy, beneficial pastime for everyone, regardless of experience or ability. This will be done by supporting less privileged groups enabling them to participate in organised events. This will be done by offering to conduct "Angling for all" seminars to schools and youth clubs.By offering to conduct "Angling for all - It can be done" seminars and demonstrations to disabled clubs and assiciations.

::Please help us to make a difference, your donation will be put to good use no matter how big or small. Thank you.

I am writing this in reply to an e-mail I received where the person was asking me why I didnt go after big named stars as patrons.

Ok Firstly I got it into my head that anybody who became a patron had to have 2 qualities and they were passionate about angling and also believed in what Reels on Wheels was about and what we wanted to achieve.

The problem with getting famous actors etc is that they are way too busy to even give me 1 day a year of their time and many of them are already involved with several organisations.  Yes I would love somebody like Chris Tarrant who is a public figure and an angler…but you try to get to them and then get them to check you out….its unfortunate but they just don’t have the time.

Now having said all that if I had the chance to have one or two well know personalities I would jump at the chance.

All the Patrons I have at the moment are anglers…some may not be so well known as others but they all have something to offer..be it 1 day a year of their time or just support from a distance and knowledge that they can pass on to us as an organisation and of course drop our name in all the right places…

So to all the Patrons of Reels on Wheels I thank you for your time and your support and to anybody who would like to become a patron…your support would be appreciated by me and I am sure by all the less able and disabled people who we work with and help support and lets hope that we continue to grow in strength and continue to help others.

  1. Most celebs are more interested in what you can do for them rather than what they can do for you and this isn’t what Reels on Wheels is about.

All at Reels on Wheels are lucky to have the patrons that we do because they are in it to give support not to see what they can get out of it and for that i am grateful to each and every one of them.
