Aims and Donations
:: The primary aim is to help the disabled and those needing assistance to return to fishing. Nationally we will collect and collate names and contact numbers of people needing our help and assistance, and people willing to give that assistance. These will be cross referenced and introduced through the "Buddy" system register.

:: The secondary aim is to offer advice and guidance in general to fisheries and venues in regards to access and suitability for the disabled angler. Where appropriate we will refer them to an appropriate advisory agency in their area.

:: The third aim is to (where ever possible) promote angling as a healthy, beneficial pastime for everyone, regardless of experience or ability. This will be done by supporting less privileged groups enabling them to participate in organised events. This will be done by offering to conduct "Angling for all" seminars to schools and youth clubs.By offering to conduct "Angling for all - It can be done" seminars and demonstrations to disabled clubs and assiciations.

::Please help us to make a difference, your donation will be put to good use no matter how big or small. Thank you.

  • Patrons…

How important is it to have Patrons?

    How many do you have?

I think it’s very important to have patrons for any charity or charitable organisation for several reasons.  It’s getting them thats the hard part.

Patrons for me are saying to others that they like what we are doing and support us. I dont’t expect much from a patron as they have their own lives which in most cases are very hectic, all I ask is that if they can give me 1 day a year of their time to come to an event or talk or something and if  like a couple of our patrons they are too busy to do that then I ask that they let us have a couple of photos signed to be able to raffle or give away.

I have a list of people that many disabled/less able anglers admire and take inspiration from and I have to admit I have been lucky in getting a few of them…there are a few more who I would love to have come on board as I believe the more you have the easier it is to get across what you are doing.

We have been very lucky in Patrons and so far we have the following..

    Bob Nudd MBE

    Mick Brown

    Bob Roberts

    Zyg Gregorek

    Dave Gawthorn

    Martin Cronin

    Giles Cochrane

    Ross Honey

    Ron Woodward

I will continue to ask and invite people to become Patrons in the hope that Reels on Wheels will go from strength to strength and enable us to help many more people and let the kids meet some of their hero’s
